What is the Cambridge International Curriculum?

The Cambridge International Curriculum is an educational programme developed by Cambridge Assessment International Education, a division of the University of Cambridge. It is specifically designed to meet the needs of international schools, with content and assessments adapted for students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

This programme follows the same progression as the traditional British system but with greater pedagogical flexibility and a more internationalised content, making it a popular choice in over 160 countries and 10,000 schools.

Why choose the Cambridge Curriculum in an international school?

  • Designed for global learners: programmes created for multicultural students.
  • Accurate, progressive assessment with subject choice flexibility.
  • Globally recognised qualifications (IGCSE and A Levels).
  • High-quality educational resources supported by the University of Cambridge.

While both share a similar structure (Primary, Secondary, A Levels), the Cambridge Curriculum is designed for international schools, whereas the National Curriculum is primarily intended for British schools. Cambridge provides greater pedagogical freedom, more international content, and assessments tailored to diverse student backgrounds.
