In Brussels, French international education is represented by a prestigious institution: the Lycée français Jean Monnet. Located in the municipality of Uccle, this historic school founded in 1907 offers a high-quality education, internationally recognized for its academic rigor and excellence.

From 2019 to 2023, Brussels was also home to the École Française Internationale (EFI), also located in Uccle. However, this school permanently closed its doors in July 2023 after four years of operation. As a result, the Lycée français Jean Monnet remains the only representative of the French international school network in Brussels today.

Lycée (High School) – Ages 15 to 18

High school (lycée) is divided into three years: Seconde, Première, and Terminale. From Première onwards, students choose specialty subjects (e.g., math, economics, literature, social sciences, etc.). At the end of Terminale, students take the renowned Baccalauréat (“Bac”), which is essential for university access.
