BSB confirms its excellence: top 10 in Europe for the second year in a row
Every year, the Spear’s Schools Index, created in partnership with Carfax Education, publishes a ranking of the best private schools worldwide.
For the second consecutive year, this independent organization has named the British School of Brussels (BSB) as one of the top 10 schools in the “rest of Europe” category.
BSB is the only school in Belgium to be featured in the European top 10.

Melanie Warnes, Principal of the British School of Brussels, highlights:
“This is a tremendous recognition for BSB and a testament to the dedication and skills of our teachers, the outstanding support from parents, and, of course, the commitment of our wonderful students.
We are extremely proud of BSB’s ranking as a distinguished school in Europe and globally, as it reflects our commitment to a holistic education that develops the whole child.
Not only do BSB students achieve excellent academic results, but more importantly, they learn to engage confidently, purposefully, and ethically with the world around them.”
In addition to traditional criteria such as academic results and university preparation, schools are also assessed on their educational philosophy, reputation both locally and internationally, and their ability to prepare students for life beyond school.
Fiona McKenzie, Head of Education at Carfax Education, explains:
“Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions parents will make for their child.
We wanted to provide them with a trusted guide to the best schools.
The impact of education goes far beyond academics — that’s why we looked at the unique philosophy of each school and how they prepare students for life, to create a list of truly exceptional institutions.”
