Nursery program

> Ages 2 ½ to 4

At Montessori House Brussels, children aged 2½ to 4 follow one of three nursery programmes according to their age, gradually extending from five mornings a week to full days by age four.

• The nursery environment is carefully designed to foster independence, concentration and coordination through five main learning areas that support each child’s natural curiosity and desire to learn.
• In the Practical Life area, children learn everyday skills such as pouring, cleaning, dressing and caring for their environment.
• The Sensorial area refines their senses through colour, shape, sound and texture exploration.
• In the Cultural area, they discover geography, botany, zoology and simple scientific experiments.
  The Language area develops oral expression, phonetics, reading and writing through rich vocabulary and tactile materials.
• Finally, the Mathematics area introduces number concepts and spatial awareness through hands-on, sensorial activities that build logical thinking and problem-solving skills.

This holistic approach nurtures curiosity, self-confidence and a love of learning from the very start.

Primary program

> Ages 4 to 6

At Montessori House Brussels, children aged 4 to 6 attend five mornings and four afternoons each week, following a full Montessori primary programme.

• The Primary environment supports growing independence, cooperation, and curiosity. Children refine the skills developed in nursery and begin exploring reading, writing and mathematics with greater structure.
• In Practical Life, activities become more complex, encouraging logical thinking, concentration and social awareness.
• The Sensorial area deepens understanding of size, sound, and rhythm, including the introduction to written music.
• Through Cultural studies, children explore geography, nature, timelines and simple scientific concepts.
• The Language area builds on phonetic reading and writing, introducing grammar and sentence construction.
• In Mathematics, pupils move from concrete materials to abstract thinking through hands-on exercises in numeration, the decimal system, and operations.

This stimulating and structured environment helps children grow into confident, thoughtful, and motivated learners.

Bilingual French-English School

Montessori House Brussels provides a fully bilingual English/French environment. From their first days at the school, children are immersed in both languages, ensuring that they develop confidence and fluency in English and French. Montessori House Brussels follows the authentic Montessori Method developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. At Montessori House Brussels, children take part in a variety of enriching activities beyond the classroom.

• Music plays an integral role in daily life, helping children develop coordination, rhythm, and listening skills; from age four, they may also take individual piano lessons.
• Physical education sessions are held weekly in a playful and safe environment where children strengthen balance, coordination and motor control.
• From age four, swimming lessons take place at VUB swimming pool, encouraging independence and confidence in the water. The school also organises regular excursions linked to classroom projects, such as visits to museums, theatre performances or nature walks in Woluwe Park.
• During the holidays, a Summer Stage offers creative activities including arts and crafts, music and cooking in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere.

• Basic fees are inclusive of all books, stationery, art materials, field trips, swimming, gym and music lessons.
• Excluded are -before and after school care-, lunch catering and piano lessons, as these are optional.
