Pre-Prep Programme – National Curriculum of England

The Pre-Prep Programme at BJAB follows a tailored version of the National Curriculum for England, adapted to our Belgian and international setting. The school provides a balanced and innovative curriculum covering core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, Art, Music, Physical Education, and PSHE.
Additionally, students explore History, Geography, Computing, and Design Technology through engaging project-based learning.

Classes, taught entirely in English by experienced UK-qualified teachers, ensure personalised attention and strong academic support. French lessons enrich linguistic skills, with extra English support provided if necessary.

The international approach prepares students effectively for future transitions to IB, Cambridge, Belgian, or French curricula, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and resilience.

Prep Programme – Key Stage 2 & 3, ISEB Preparation

BJAB’s Prep Programme follows an adapted version of the National Curriculum for England, specifically designed for our international and Belgian context. At Key Stage 2 (Years 5-6), pupils build on core subjects including English, Mathematics, Science, Art, Music, Physical Education, and PSHE. French lessons continue alongside project-based explorations in Computing, History, Geography, and Design Technology. Small classes and strong pastoral care foster a supportive environment.

At Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8), students benefit from specialist subject teachers and a curriculum enhanced by the ISEB syllabus, preparing them effectively for entry into UK independent schools. Senior School – Cambridge IGCSE and IB Candidate School

The BJAB Senior School provides a tailored and academically ambitious educational experience, continuing its expansion with the introduction of Year 12 in September 2026 and the first graduating class expected in 2028. Students benefit from a personalised and rigorous curriculum delivered by experienced, UK-qualified teachers. Small class sizes and dedicated pastoral support ensure each student’s academic and personal development.

The curriculum at BJAB combines project-based learning (Years 7-9) with Cambridge IGCSE (Years 10-11), providing a strong foundation for higher education and future careers. BJAB is currently an IB Candidate School for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and is pursuing authorisation as an IB World School. BJAB funds its operations solely through tuition fees. Fees are reviewed annually, with recent increases ranging between 2% and 8%, and remain highly competitive compared to other schools in Brussels. Payment options include full-year payment, three instalments for private payers, or monthly payments upon request; financial assistance may also be available through discussion with the Headteacher.
